Future changes for LuaLab

Sunday, October 20, 2024

Since LuaLab was a somewhat rushed project for a deadline, it lacks the features and experience I had hoped it to be—but as I will have more time on my hands, I'm looking to rework LuaLab into something great.

The update hopes to cover majority aspects of the game. LuaLab should be the game it deserves to be and nothing less. Here's what you can expect.

Reworked content

Updated, proof-read lesson content to ensure the information is 100% correct and up to standard. This also includes progress tracking, section separation and other options to better sort all lessons. Much of this involves new backend code/updates for data. You can read about how we're switching how we manage our data here. Right now, there's 28 lessons across 2 sections in the game. More content will be added through this update.

Social features

There's not much I can share about this right now, but features such as likes, comments/replies and conversational AI may be added in the future.

UI & Web updates

Some components and pages may receive some updates and changes along the way. Most of these will be due to new/updated features, but others may be quality/efficiency purposes. This also includes updates to the landing page for LuaLab (no dates/timeframes for this).

Data rework

Refer to this post lol.

There's a lot more to come for LuaLab, and I'm excited to see where it leads to in the future.
